Background Information
This song is about a kid who is processing their kid dating different people. Worrying about things that could go wrong, going through denial and other things a kid might go through in this situation.
I wrote this song in early 2020 when I needed ideas to record on a trip to NY in March. I wanted to return to Vinegar Hills Studios in Brooklyn since this was where I’d recorded the song “I Am King” in 2018. So I wrote this song, along with a couple others, for this trip, I recorded the piano, acoustic guitar, synth and most of the vocals at home. I recorded in Brooklyn on March 13, 2020, which was a significant turning point in the Covid-19 pandemic. The video below shows a bit of what that experience was like.
